During Moda's Country Fair Blog Hop, we were asked what was on our bucket lists. I have always wanted to sky-dive and with this being a big birthday year (Can I say 29 again?), I decided it was time to start working on that list!
Yes! I jumped!
My 18 year old son who was leaving for college, wanted to take the
BIG JUMP
with me and how could I refuse that face?
Can you tell who was more nervous?
We both jumped tandem, which means an experiened sky-diver was attached to us and
basically did all the work.
Taylor wanted to go first.....
Then my turn....
(That's Trev, my tandem partner. He must have sensed
my hesitation, because about when this picture was taken,
he whispered, I've done 3500 of these. Talk about
being reassured!)
The free-fall only lasted a few moments, but wow! it was incredible!
Once the parachute opened, it was amazing!
It was so peaceful and beautiful up there....
The sensation must feel just like a bird does when flying.
I even got to steer!
Taylor and I both had a perfect landing....
(Did I grow antennae?)
A successful check off the bucket list!
Thanks to everyone who left a comment on my blog about taking the plunge. You encouraged
me and genuinely made me feel that I had alot of support!
Now for the drawing!
Leave a comment by the end of the week, telling me what is on your
bucket list and
one winner will win this Holiday package!
It includes a panel and layer cake from "Nature's Gift",
as well as a matching photo binder and box of Christmas
cards.
I will use random.org Friday evening (Oct. 14th) to choose the
lucky winner!
Good Luck and thanks again for visiting
my blog.
Always,
Deb
On my bucket list is to go to Rockefeller center at Christmas time!
ReplyDeleteWinning a ribbon at a Quilt Show is on my bucket list!
ReplyDeleteYou are so brave to skydive, I loved the pictures. I want to go to Hawaii and Ireland. Maybe hang glide on the dunes (wouldn't be as high as off a mountain).
ReplyDeleteI knew you could do it! Looks like fun, but I don't think I would have the nerve to jump out of that plane. Congrats to you! I have a few things I would love to do that mainly involve travel. I want to see the Rose Parade in person since I've always loved to watch it on tv.
ReplyDeleteWOW you are SO brave!!! On my bucket list is a trip to the Houston Quilt show. I've wanted to go for years, but have never made it there. Maybe one day........
ReplyDeleteThere is no way I could jump out of a plane!! Just thinking about it makes me nervous! Top of my bucket list is to visit Quilt Market in Houston - I can but dream:)

ReplyDeleteHi Deb,
ReplyDeleteIsn't it a peaceful sensation up there? I am glad that you experienced the plunge. I loved it when I was soaring through the air. Like you, I couldn't turn down my son's request and I am glad I didn't.

ReplyDeleteMy bucket list is not anywhere near as adventuresome as yours I'm afraid. I just really want to go to the New England states specifically Maine to visit the little fishing villages and eat lobster for the entire time I am there. Nothing else. LOL Well, ok probably some water and pepsi and I'm sure they'll have amazing desserts too but lobster all other times.

Well...I must admit that sky-diving would NEVER be on my bucket list but big congratulations to you for taking the plunge...and all the more fun that you were able to enjoy the experience with your son. The main thng on my bucket list continues to be after many years...a trip to Australia. Maybe someday...
ReplyDeleteThe smile on your face in those pictures is priceless. Good for you!
ReplyDeleteMy bucket list is much less adventuresome. Perhaps the biggest item is to live in NYC for a year, to really experience the city and all it has to offer. I'm thrilled that my sweetheart feels the same way, and we're looking ahead to NYC 2020.
