Hello Friends!
Welcome to day #3 of the Moda Friendship
Quilt Along!
Today, 2 other designers and I get to share our Friendship block and pattern
with you.
My block was created using my "Seascapes" fabric.
Ahhh...the Sea! Don't you love to dream about
it? Especially in the winter?
The block was quick and easy.
To download the pattern:
I put my block on a beach bag to carry in
Cape Cod this summer on our family vacation.
Can't wait!!!
I'll have my family sign the bag during our annual
outing and write the year in the center.
What a fun keepsake of our trip!
Be sure to stop by and get other block patterns today
from
and
We would love to see your blocks as you create them.
Moda has created a flickr group for
you to share them in the
gallery:
Be sure to collect all of the blocks from the Designers!
28 of them!
And......
since this is a Friendship Quilt Along...
what else do friends do?
SHARE SECRETS!
I thought that I would share a sneak peek at
my upcoming Christmas
and Halloween lines with you.

I have been using a lot of the Moda Primitive Muslins lately so I'd have to pick that as my favorite color for now.
ReplyDeleteSince I'm in love with your seascapes, of course I have to say blue is my favorite color right now.
ReplyDeleteThe clearest ocean water blue is the one!
ReplyDeletemy favorite moda color (okay, bella color) is probably marine, but cheddar makes me really happy... and i use white in absolutely everything.
ReplyDeleteWhite on white. Plain, basic and can always use.

ReplyDeleteI've been drawn to reds lately.
ReplyDeleteBlue, like the bag above. Love the block with the centre sand dollar! I just finished a large star in Seascape. Fabulous colours of blue.

My favourites vary depending on what I am stitching. My current favourite is Cheddar - bight, vibrant and it goes well with both the spring colours I am stitching for myself and the fun prints I am using for my boys' room.

Hi Deb - I'm with a lot of other commenters here - any shade of blue will do! It is always so fresh. I am currently collecting your Spa and Seascapes fabrics and a lot of other blues to make lots of blue and ??? quilts for the home which we hope to buy in Florida shortly. I can't really make the quilt/bedspread and matching window toppers until we buy the house and bed/mattress and I know the exact dimensions. So I am flying blind right now - LOL!
ReplyDeleteI am going to make the quilted bedspread top in your Seascapes line to go from corner to corner on the mattress top and then I will add a line of piping all around and a gathered or pleated skirt to hang to the floor. Need lots of fabric, don't I? LOL!
I already have purchased 3 of your Seascapes panels which I think I will cut apart and piece back together in horizontal and vertical rows for the top, adding in the charm squares and sashing to make it all fit together. I like your courthouse steps idea BTW.
I would be living in fear that Seascapes will be well and truly sold out by the time I find out I'm one foot short of the fabric I need to finish, except that I have all the Moda solids and marbles at my disposal too! I have the Bella Solids sample brochure and there are several blue and aqua shades that will coordinate with this line. I really appreciate that Moda's designers are letting us know what other Moda fabrics coordinate with their lines.
I also love the Coach House pattern designs for your lines too!
Keep up the great work, please!
Pretty block! Red would have to be my favorite with blue a close second, even prettier together!
ReplyDeleteChoosing one color? Oh my! I love them all! And I think I change my mind when I see something new - lol! Choosing one color is just too hard (sorry, I'm whining). I love tone on tone and I guess that if I have to choose it would be blue. Love the bag! What a fantastic way to show off a quilt square! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteFrench blue is a perennial favorite of mine, and I do love your Seascapes.
ReplyDeleteHow to choose just one color?! Well, green seems to be in most everything I work on, so I guess greens have it. Thanks for sharing with us.
ReplyDeleteLoving Bella Zen Gray (and silver also!). These grey tones are my new neutral of choice ;)...
ReplyDeletelove pinks
ReplyDeletethanks for the block and lovely giveaway
ABreading4fun [at] gmail [dot] com

ReplyDeleteMy favorite colors are deep shades of red. Add some browns and mustard colors. Love them all.
ReplyDeleteAnything that reminds me of fall colors...oranges and browns. Aren't we all dreaming of summer at the beach. Soon it will be here!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the Christmas panel...but I love the blue "spa" also.
ReplyDeleteLove the pic! I can pretend it's white sand, right? ;)

ReplyDeleteShades of gray for me!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Moda solid is Moda Bella Solids Gray 9900-83. As much as I like the lovely fresh contrast with white, I think Gray is more forgiving when my color selections aren't quite as nice as I thought they would be.

ReplyDeleteI love tranquil aqua. The name is peaceful and the color is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Moda color is any one of the blues.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Moda color is... ALL OF THEM! Seriously, how can you ask me to choose just one color? That is like asking a mother to pick a favorite child! But if you were to ask which moda fabric I use most often? Tallow from the Primitive Gatherings muslin line. It is my go-to work horse. great for aged looking backgrounds with rustic country colors, and soft romantic looking florals and stitcheries go great too.
ReplyDeleteModa is my favorite color.....but i'll specify to Bella Surf or anything aqua blue.
ReplyDeleteI definitely is difficult to choose one color in the many Moda lines; however, orange would be one of mine right now. It's appearing in many Moda designers fabric lines.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the "peek" at Halloween, Deb--A favorite season to use Orange in projects.
Moda colors are all so beautiful! Right now, at least, I am really favoring aqua.
ReplyDeleteWell, what I use the most is white so one could say that is my favorite. However, I would love to make a quilt with the Bright Sky Blue. That color just makes me happy.
ReplyDeleteBella Snow is the most commonly used in my sewing room.
ReplyDeleteI love the freshness of Bella Green, but Fig Tree Wheat is a good solid neutral.
ReplyDeleteLove the choice of fabrics for this pattern! Thanks for sharing!
