It's

Moda Blog Hop Time!

Welcome to Day 4 of Moda's latest visit with all
of the designers.

Today is my day and I am honored to be sharing it with Barbara Brackman and
V & Co.  Be sure to stop by their blogs too!

The theme of this blog hop is "Size Matters" and my newest line of fabric "Family Tree"
(available in stores this fall) definitely illustrates how size matters. 


The panel is an actual family tree that you can use to applique your family
members (little birds) onto.
The number of birds on your family tree depends on the
SIZE of your family!


Our family is still growing......
(As you can see from this picture of my husband's birthday!)





.........so our tree is not full yet.

(Notice there is a lot of room left  for many, many more grandchildren!)

For the Hop, each designer was given a block to create
using our newest fabric.


We were to create a finished 18" block and incorporate it into a project.



These are my 2 blocks.  I just couldn't decide which 
color version I liked the best when laying them out.
So, I tried both
and appliqued little birds from the group in 
some of the blocks.



Using the blue block, I made this simple pillow

(I plan on making the orange block into a  pillow too!)

Barb Cherniwchan of Coach House designs has created several wonderful
patterns using "Family Tree," including the wall hanging
above.

    I love the bird applique on the orange one, but blue is my favorite color. It is so hard to choose. The family tree is amazing, what fun to put it together! Thanks for a chance to win!

    I am looking forward to these panels being out in Oct so I can play with my scraps!;-)! I would add an orange strip to the blue one! Sweet! Though the orange pilla would be a lovely Fall look!

    How does one decide, well I like blue, its one of my colors. But the orange is bright and happy with the blue calm. So I can't decide which one because I like both. They would make a get pair of pillows. I do love the Family Tree Panel, what a great idea.

    Hi Deb:
    I saw the video of you demonstrating your new Family Tree fabric and the comment came up to add the birds with Velcro! That cracked me and the entire audience up!
    I love orange because it is the color of the year and one I am not cozy with yet, but it is so fresh and clean-looking. I cannot wait for your line to come out. Thanks so much for the block pattern.

    I prefer the orange, but then it's one of my favourite colours at the moment so it's naturally going to be my preference. I'm looking forward to your new line coming out. My Dad's been researching our family tree for years so this will be perfect to stitch for him.

    The orange block - I really like the birds and orange is one of my favorite quilting fabrics. Love the family tree fabric - I've been trying to think of something to make the kid's for their "family" gift this Christmas and think I just found it. :)

    Gee... I actually love them both! But if I really had to pick... I think I would go with the orange one! The colors are bold and kinda reminds me of fall... here in Arizona, I don't get to see the fall leaves change... the only leaves I see change are the ones that die from the heat! ugh Happy quilting!

    I like the orange block the best because, well, it's nearly autumn! Love your family tree panel -- lots of folks ask me to make family tree quilts for them and I don't really enjoy doing it because mine are so funky. Yours will be a fabulous solution!

    I like the blue because you used more of those beautiful prints, but I also like the orange because of the sweet applique. I'd probably make the blue though. Beautiful fabric line.

    I really love the blue most. Even better for me is that my living room walls are blue so it's perfect for my house too. I LOVE the idea of making a family tree this way and now is a great time to start for me because I now have 3 grandchildren.

    Funny thing is that I could never have made this for my Stepmom and Dad because there are 9 children, and something like 26 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. I'm not sure I have a wall large enough to hold that much of a family tree wall hanging or that the tree wouldn't topple over from being top heavy. LOL Ooh maybe I could make an orchard?
